Minty Geek was born one autumn morning in Somerset when Dr. Mark Brickley (creator of Minty Geek) brought his home-built "Electronics lab 101" kit into work and challenged his lab assistants to complete it in an afternoon. Knowing nothing about electronics, and there being no instructions in the prototype, they each failed miserably. But the idea had been born. A fusion of compact components with easy-to-use instructions for every level of understanding that slot into a neat little mint tin. A minty fresh idea that makes learning electronics and building circuits so fun and easy!
Following the success of the Electronics Lab 101 kit, Minty Geek has spent time considering how to fulfill our commitment to providing additional fun electronics projects to our users by providing a more complete approach to learning about electronics.
We are therefore excited to announce that we will be creating both an electronics learning system and development system in the next few months. This will enable you to utilize the 101 components with the new systems to develop your interest.
We look forward to sharing more about this as soon as the new range is ready. In the meantime your feedback is important to us and we would welcome any suggestions as to the projects you would be interested in. Great news! We are really excited to be able to tell you we have two new Minty Geek kits for your geeky delight!
Put a geeky spin on playing board games with our brand new Dice Kit featuring a random number generator in the form of a double dice face. The kit requires some soldering, is about the same level of difficulty as the Torch-in-a-Tin, and is the perfect project to tackle after the 101 Kit. It comes with full instructions in our signature retro mint tin, something which will strike a nostalgic chord with geeks who re-call the Altoid mint tin of their youth. Not only do you have the satisfaction of creating your own electronic circuit but also the fun of using an electronic pair of dice. Monopoly will never be the same again!
The Starlights LED kit is suitable for creating amazing, illuminated designs on clothing, bags etc. Bespoke LED clothing can cost a fortune so you can have the fun of creating your own unique T-shirts, scarves, hats etc for a fraction of the price. The kit cleverly combines an introduction to electronic circuits with craft appeal. A great present for creative geeks! Comes with full, easy to follow instructions and packed inside the signature Minty Geek retro mint tin. The kit requires no soldering.
